Is there a difference in SATA connectors for HDD 2.5 and 3.5?

I want to buy USB - SATA wires, but it is indicated that for a 2.5-inch HDD. Will there be a difference between connectors in HDD 2.5 and 3.5? (I have 3.5)

The interface connector is completely identical.
Power connector - identical, but not all power lines can be wired.
If the desired adapter gives only a 7-pin data connector, they are compatible without problems. Accordingly, the power is connected in some other way.
If the adapter provides both data and power (at the same time, only from one or a pair of USB), they are mechanically compatible, but will not work. There is no +12V power in this adapter, only +5V provided by the USB port. For most 2.5" drives this is enough (the exception is server drives), 3.5" is not.
If, in addition to USB, it is connected with something else, then you need to separately specify what and whether it supplies + 12V to the disk

There is no difference in the data wire, the standard sata port 2.5 and 3.5 are the same, in slim-cd-rom they usually put a mini-sata connector there, but there are adapters from it to sata.
The power cable for 3.5 still uses a 12V line, which is not supplied by usb.
So if the adapter without an external power adapter (sometimes with two usb connectors: black and red), then 3.5 it will not start on power.
