Is it possible to replace the HDD with an SSD in this case?

Good evening gentlemen and ladies.
There is a Samsung 300E5A laptop without a native screen. I use it as a stationary computer, connecting an external monitor. Everything would be fine, only with such a scheme you can’t enter the BIOS, because there is no video signal at the external outputs until Windows boots up. I want to put an SSD on this laptop as the main boot drive.
The plan is something like this:

  1. Connect SSD instead of DVD drive (DVD Writer Model SN-208), SATA cable;
  2. Copy HDD image to SSD;
  3. Connect SSD instead of HDD, and HDD instead of DVD.

What pitfalls can I expect?

I once bought a ssd from samsung. I installed it, downloaded the proprietary migration utility, launched it and sat down to play in pubg (just then it just came out).
After 1-2 matches, I don’t remember exactly, the utility reported that the migration process was completed.
I turned off the computer, pulled out the old disk and everything - then I worked with the new one.
So I think everything should go smoothly.

Possible.
Although it's probably easier to connect to USB than to put instead of DVD.

But who knows, in 95% of cases everything will pass without problems.
