Hello, I remember facing this situation.
The fact that you went down to the fifth version is simply not enough, there must be some of the 4.
Now I looked on my cloud disk where I have all sorts of drivers and programs for also not a new laptop with licensed Vista, the VirtualBox-4.1.30-91550-Win version worked for me. I’ll immediately unsubscribe that I don’t know what is the most supported version for Vista, the version about which I am writing is just the one that I used.
I just checked it is being searched on the Internet for downloading, if you don’t find it, unsubscribe - I’ll post it somewhere.
Regarding the errors in the work about which you were answered here - I personally did not encounter problems. I used the machine, I had Windows Xp and CentOs 6 in it (I didn’t try to put the 7th CentOs in it, because I already had tears from Vista). I can say that CentOs 6 worked stably, but with regards to XP, it used to freeze, but I won’t say that this is the fault of the virtual machine, after all, working on one of the first dual-core processors + 2 GB of memory cannot be said that these are large resources, of which here the car stood out somewhere 512. So feel free to put it, there should be no problems, at least some global ones that will prevent you from living a lot.
