Is it possible to indicate with the description of an opensource project that this is an alternative to a particular paid application, but free?

Is it possible to indicate in the description of the project on GitHub that this project was created as a free alternative to an already existing paid application, indicating the functions the same as the paid one in the comparison table, for example, or explicitly indicate the paid application?
Thank you!

Of course it is possible. The sites are full of articles like = 10 free alternatives to microsft office and so on.
For example, I have an open source accounting system on github, I wrote it like this - an alternative to 1C and other paid programs

If we take into account Russian laws, then it is definitely impossible. False advertising in its most obvious form.

I saw similar, in the form of comparisons with analogues. But the price never showed up there.
