Is it ethical to copy comments from someone else's code (documentation)?

Suppose I wrote in the Y language some analogue of this library, which differs in giblets from it, but a similar API sticks out. How ethical is it to just copy part of the documentation comments (in style, the function starts the sepulary, the parameter such and such sets the level of sepulation)?
