Is it possible to have the entire site in 1 folder?

The structure of the whole site looks like this: https://shop.ru/something/
There are no folders after something . /news/latestNews/breakingNews/ or can it be left as it is?

To begin with, I would start from the type and subject of the site. For example, what is good for a news site may not be very suitable for a service or information site.
If you have a site with a more or less static and understandable structure that you do not plan to change, it is definitely worth considering the option of displaying sections in the URL.
Remember: A conveniently and well-structured site is a serious bid to win the battle for visitors. But in this regard, navigation and the internal link structure of the site are much more important than the URL structure (although you should not forget about it too).

can be left as it is

maybe, but it's strange, but the main page is also https://shop.ru/something/ ?
And why not get rid of this something, then the question will disappear by itself.

News is so, for example, in fact, the site is about something else. To be honest, I wanted to implement breadcrumbs through the URL, but this requires a similar hierarchy on the site. Doing it for a long time, and in a friend is almost useless. So I decided to ask how this will affect SEO
