Product titles of 100 characters: is this normal or too much?
Question. Are product titles too big for 100 characters? Will it be a problem if all the products on the site get a long title of 100 characters, or does Google not care at the moment?

Here is the official answer from Google representatives:
Google's Gary Ilsh said that people don't have to worry about the length of title tags. It is important that the title matches the theme of the page, and it does not matter if it is long or too long.
The question to Google was: “Is there any benefit to title tags that are longer than the text displayed in search snippets?”. Ilsh replied: "Yes." He didn't elaborate.
Later, he also added that the allowed length of the title is quite large - about 160 or 220 characters. If the title tag is one sentence, then there will be no manual sanctions.

A long title implies "more than necessary" words.
The more words in the text, the lower the BM25 (relevance) coefficient.
The lower the relevance, the worse the ranking.
I recommend 52-59 characters / 6-9 words including stop words / 4-7 without stop words.
I never tire of repeating: in SEO, static "good / bad" does not work . Test: on one section, reduce the titles to 60 characters, on the other, leave it as it is. In two months, compare the traffic sections. It is desirable that the initial traffic on the compared sections be +/- the same.
