How to optimize a site for PageSpeed?
At work, we were given a task to optimize the loading of our site, I ran it through pagespeed, the main points by type, replace jpg with webp, etc. I did, but not a single second was added. There was one gif built in, pageSpeed says that this gif slows down the site for 25 seconds, I removed it, but the effect is zero, Tech. Dir. says it means I didn’t watch informative videos, but I know that this is Googlemetrics and analytics eats speed, but you can’t remove them, taboo. Tells me to put async await in scripts, there are scripts for 2500+ lines, I'm just a June. I don’t understand what to do at all, PageSpeed gives 40%, but requires 80.

Judging by the GPS data, what personally I would pay attention to in the first place:
1) enable the browser cache.
This is done in htaccess + on the hosting side must be enabled. The easiest way is if an ISP panel is used. Set a deadline of 365 days. If you are too lazy to figure it out, just write to the hoster: I ask you to set the browser cache for all static elements (pictures, fonts, styles, etc.) for 365 days. A normal hoster will do it for free or tell you where to do it. If the hoster is not normal, then try to stick the rules into htaccess yourself (if you google them, they will be found, there are just a lot of different variations, you need to try which ones are suitable for a particular hosting)
in general, this is the simplest point usually.
2) Adjust the appropriate image size
Here, too, everything is simple - your photo is large, but it stands in a small square. What for? Put small photos in there. That is, just save them in the editor with a smaller width and height.
3) Remove unused JavaScript code - you won't really do anything here.
screenshot i.imgur.com/qEbmxsh.png - all scripts that you can specify async - that's how it was done in the first one. And check that the rules page is displayed.
4) I recommend throwing out sharing, i.imgur.com/6z5kK1d.png screen - they are usually no longer used, but it affects page speed
At least this way, I think such a thing can give 10-15 points.
The dude there is described in detail what exactly affects the scores. Open your eyes and just read
