Is it possible to exceed the amperage?

In general, I have a Raspberry Pi 3 and a kind of power supply for it 5V / 2.5A. Question: can I take a BM with a large amperage (I have a voracious scanner + printer in USB)? It won't hurt? For example 5V/5A?
