Is it possible to create a virtual machine based on an existing PC with installed OS and software?

Hello!
There is a PC with a database installed (OS - Windows Server, DBMS - on BDE). In order to ensure safety and operational use, it is planned to create a virtual machine with a running DBMS.
Can I use this PC to create a virtual image, or do I need to deploy the software and database inside a container with the image of the desired OS?
If it is possible, then how to do it or where to look for instructions on creating a virtual machine?
