Is it possible to get away with installing Ubuntu only on a virtual machine for a full web experience?
Hello. I'm going to start developing a site in Python using the Django framework. Previously, there was already little experience: I created a small "site", though I did it in Windows and did not expose it to any hosting.
Now I decided to start developing the site and then place it on one of the virtual hostings. I heard that it’s better to develop on Linux, when I started to implement my first project on Windows, I just ran into conflicts and realized that it’s better not to develop on Windows (since hosting, I understand, will be on Linux). I chose Ubuntu as the OS, but at the same time I don’t want to use it as a separate OS every time I reboot the system, since I often use Windows.
Actually, the decision came to mind - to install Ubuntu on a virtual machine, but at the same time the question arose: Will I get any jambs when working with this OS in a virtual machine? For example, there is a concern that software packages may not install properly.

1. The web is Linux, so yes, development is only on it. so the answer to your question is YES
, but there are a whole carload of emulators. for Windows and ready-made assemblies from
openserver to bitrixVM
Now about Python - yes, it is now the most popular language in the world.
yes, and its popularity is growing.
But the web is still dominated by php, whether you like it or not. You are deliberately trying to learn exclusive with all the consequences
. For example, 90% of hosting companies are unable to host a Django project. And of the remaining 10, only 5% can do it without problems. In general, you will always face not only exclusivity but also a lack of service. Small communities, etc., etc.
If you would still like to work with python, then these are still not sites.
Although projects are being made on it.
As for virtualization, Linux initially works better with them.
Given the specifics of Django, it would not be bad for you for one and Docker
Until recently, I used ubuntu on virtualbox. The main resources are normally configured.
I allow.
It's better to install Debian. Nothing will be installed crookedly.
