Is it possible to connect multiple monitors to multiple video cards in one system unit?

Let's say a crazy situation - there are 4 (5,6, etc.) monitors with different connectors and you want to connect all of them to one PC. For example, only three of them can be connected to the video card in the system unit (there is no built-in in the processor). Let's say, if you take a very simple video card in addition, and connect the remaining one to it, will it work like that? Does this require technology like CrossFire or SLI? I heard there are signal splitters, but they are expensive and probably not worth it.
Not that I want to do it now, I'm just interested in the future :D

That's what they usually do, they stick a few cheap video cards into the computer and get additional monitor outputs.

Yes, you can, when using windows OS, there are no problems - just inserted video cards and it works. I assembled a pseudo video operator console, in total the monitors were connected to three video cards: 1 piece to intel built into the motherboard, and two monitors to two external nvidia, a total of 5 monitors.

Yes, no problem.
I advise you to read about adapters and just take as many as you need, you should also make sure that your system takes out the load (it is not large, so there will be no problems with a strong system)
