Are the timings bad?
I want to assemble myself a home working computer, it will also be a storage and a DLNA server.
I'm looking at RAM, I need 32 gigs, no less. The question is about timings, I can not find a clear answer in any way. Some say that timings are of course important, but secondary compared to frequency. I'm tired of watching videos on this topic.
I found budget memory with the following timings: CL18-22-22-42 or CL19-23-23-45 at 3600. Is that bad for 2x16?
If you look hard for 30-35%+ to the price, you can find CL17. Is it worth overpaying?
I'm not a gamer, I just need a lot of memory to keep 4-5 desktops in the background, and so that the programs are not unloaded from memory. Well, the things listed above.

The equipment is rather weak, it is better to save up and take at least i5, a video card with a Ti index of 4 Gb and 16-24 Gb memory. Do not forget also about the SSD as a system (256 Gb).
All of the above games and software will be fine with your equipment, but there will be less pleasure from using it)
Timings are of course important, but secondary to frequency.
Moreover, you should only bother with the memory account after purchasing a top-end processor, a top-end SSD, a top-end video card (if it is used in your tasks), and if, for some reason, you still lack performance.
