Is it possible to catch regular cable TV channels on dvb-t/t2 set-top boxes?

I have cabled through a regular analog cable. Channels are caught, as from an antenna (no set-top boxes, etc.). The question is, if you connect this cable to the dvb-t / t2 set-top box, will the same cable channels be caught?

Channels are not caught, but transmitted over the cable. If the corresponding cable channels are not fed into the cable, then no set-top boxes will help - these signals are not there.
