Intel iris pro vs gt650m vs gt750m what's the point of a discrete graphics card?

I watched the performance of Intel iris pro and compared with gt650m and gt750m what is the point in a discrete video card, if the performance is the same with 650m, 750m is the same, and R9 in mbp15 2015 is 15% faster? I don’t see the point in overpaying, or does it make sense?

In this context, the only meaning for you is the presence of additional problems in the video dump of the GPU chip. If you do not have a task where GPU performance is really needed (rendering, games, 3D), then I would not take a laptop with a discrete one at all. The iGPU is enough for the system to work. IMHO
