The system is still fresh, I didn’t have time to spoil it, but it already slows down a lot, and in this place, just scrolling through desktops, minimizing, etc. in general, it’s normal, but this effect is annoying, and I use it often.
There are no loads, the percentage is not busy with anything, I don’t think that the animation should be pulled out from the hard drive, the memory, well, yes, it’s not enough, but not to the same extent, the video card should cope well, I don’t understand where the bottleneck is, or is it still difficult to retina draw at that resolution? Or is it a bug in the system itself.
On a maverick, on a poppy for 11 years, everything is clear, there are no lags.

Check out my themes. There is a joint. But 99% of users will deceive themselves and steal any lags if it's an Apple.
On the topic, try the second method here. What does memory compression actually do in Mac OS X? How does it work? helped me at rMBP 2014 with similar complaints. Not perfect, but made much better.
Ps: I'm glad to see people who don't "eat what they give".

I increased the memory to 16 - nothing moved, one iota ..
As soon as I open a bunch of windows, everything starts to break wildly.
I ran it on Geekbench, everything corresponds to the iron brothers, no deviations were noticed.
Everything is open, a bunch of tabs, applications are running, I launch doom3 everything flies, at full resolution, well, that means the resource is there, there are no brakes on the video, the processor, memory, everything is enough, what is needed, why the system cannot draw the animation of windows, even slows down the appearance of a launchpad, even opening a section in it, and then it slows down, well, what is it.
Disabling compression and swap does not lead to anything good, moreover, during these dances, the system generally hung up, the memory filled up and that's it, even the cursor could not move, everything froze tightly.
