If you abandon a project in which you have not yet started working?

I accepted the offer, talked to the team leader and realized that I would not be able to work in this team
Haven't tracked anything yet, how will this affect JSS?
And will the customer be able to leave me a review if I have earned 0 bucks

First of all, you are not a slave. Secondly, not a debtor, they did not take money from anyone. If the order has just been taken, and you have not extended the deadlines, then write: after an interview with you, I understood that we have different approaches and visions, let's part ways. Well, or standard: sorry bros, the hamster died, I will grieve for a month, I would be happy to coo with you, it’s not fate ...
And if the work is less than a week, it’s better to do it. Reduced jss takes longer to fix.

I was in a similar situation a month ago. I accepted the offer, saw the code, my hair stood on end, I realized that it needed to be unseen and rewritten from scratch.
Upwork support responded that after accepting the contract, it is no longer possible to influence anything. Like, you need to think better before you accept the terms.

and what difference does it make to you if you close the contract this way and that?

Too lazy to look for a prooflink, but somewhere in the upwork help there is info:
if less than $5 is earned, there will be no feedback in the profile. So don't be afraid of bad reviews.
The client should directly write that I'm sorry but due to personal reasons I won't be able to work on this project, for example.
