How to upgrade (upgrade windows 8.1) to windows 10?

Hi all! Need help!
I can't upgrade from windows 8.1 to windows 10! I downloaded MediaCreationTool and tried it (upgrade now to windows 10) but at the end when it checks for updates, it reinstalls it on windows 8.1!
I also tried with Windows10Upgrade24074, but the same thing! Doesn't want to! What could be the problem? How can I upgrade to windows 10 without losing recovery mode?
