How to unlock extended partition in gparted?
I install ubuntu from a flash drive. I have windows 8.1 occupying half of the disk, and the other half is empty. I flashed ubuntu 16 to a flash drive and went "try ubuntu" . Called gparted and the drive I want to install ubuntu to is marked as "not partitioned". By right-clicking on it and going to the "new" item, only the "Main Section" is available to me from the entire list, while the "advanced" and "logical" ones are blocked. According to all the manuals, I have to make an extended disk and divide it by 3.
How can I fix it or am I not understanding something?

The disk has a GPT partition table . It does not have the concept of an extended partition, since this type of partition exists only as a way around the 4 partition limit in the MBR table.
