How to restore a RAID 1 array if one of the two disks fails? How to analyze RAID?

In test conditions, I work out the failure of a disk:
Motherboard MSI P55M-GD41
1) Create RAID Volume created from two disks. Installed Windows on it. The device is seen in Windows in diskmgmt.msc as Intel RAID 1 Volume.
I take out 1 disk and boot it still looks like Intel RAID 1 Volume, why? Shouldn't it be seen as an ordinary screw and give me its model and not Intel RAID 1? That is, the question is if the disk has failed, how can I find out if I have a RAID of two disks or just 1 disk is hanging out, should I check it once every six months, roughly speaking? If you look through AIDA -> ATA, you can check and compare how many disks are really in the array, or is it possible otherwise without turning off the computer?
2) Again, I take out the disk as if it had failed, 1 disk remained, like I bought a new one more. How can I add it to an existing live one, the Recovery Volume Options item, probably, but what next?

@opium

the first thing to give up is a cheap raid on the motherboard
