How to decode raw SMART data?

How can raw SMART data received from a 3ware controller be decoded into human readable form?
I tried to use smartctl, but it throws an error.

# smartctl -A -d 3ware,1 /dev/tws0
smartctl 6.0 2012-10-10 r3643 [FreeBSD 9.1-RELEASE-p2 amd64] (local build)

/dev/tws0: 3ware controller type unknown, use /dev/tweX or /dev/twaX devices

But tws0 is the only device in the system that looks like a controller.
# ls -l /dev/tw*
crw------- 1 root operator 0, 36 Nov 4 2013 /dev/tws0

But the request for raw SMART data is successfully processed. The question is how to understand them?
# tw_cli /c0/p1 show smart

/c0/p3 Drive SMART Data:

SFF-8035i , tables 5 and 6.
Generic attribute numbers here , vendor-specific - should be looked up from manufacturers.
