How to restart hardware on USB-hub in case of external power supply?
Hey!
There is a server to which a USB-hub with external power is connected. There is equipment on the hub that stably freezes and nothing can be done about it. A power restart is needed.
Option 1:
The device is broken:
I can reset the external power supply of the hub using an ethernet socket, but the hub continues to work via a USB cord. Are there any devices that can reboot the entire usb hub at once? Or something else?
Option 2:
Cut off the +5V power in the USB cable:
Open the USB cable and cut the +5V conductor in it, then when the external power is reset on the hub, everything will be de-energized. Question: will there be any problem that at this time + 5V will remain on the information conductor? Can something burn?
