How to properly align images in a list?

Good afternoon, could you tell me how correctly (in terms of design) uneven pictures in the list are aligned? In the center of the picture, like in the attached image or something else?

There is no definite answer to this question. At a minimum, you need to understand what tasks the design should solve.

It all depends on the design. There is no exact form.

From a design point of view, these pictures should have the same style and, accordingly, the same size. Otherwise, a torn edge will turn out on the left, which will catch the eye. If you align them to the left, then either the text will start jumping, or the distance between the picture and the text will be different for each item (and this is unacceptable).

A little strange question. The easiest option is to put pictures to the right of the text without alignment.

The usual trick for lists is:

  1. First we create several containers of the same size (the size of the container must match the size of the smallest element)
  2. Inserting objects into containers
  3. Apply the same alignment (I have it in the center of the container)
  4. We remove the containers and get a good alignment
