How to organize a backup of photos on the server?
Good afternoon.
I want to warn you right away - I used the search, but I did not find anything suitable. If I missed something - please give a link.
My girlfriend is a wedding photographer, I am an amateur photographer of landscapes on hikes.
It turns out that a large number of photos are formed, she has 1.3 TB, I have 400 GB, and storing them in one place (on a personal PC) becomes unacceptable.
We each have our own computer, and additionally there is a server-nas-xbmc, to which we merge photos. So far, I'm backing up photos to the server manually - uploading new folders or completely deleting everything that was and uploading everything again.
But as you can see, it's not quite right , not quite right .
Therefore, I ask you for advice - how to automate the process (preferably not a batch file), or can someone share their experience?
Thanks to.

1. Have at least three disks: two in the mirror and one for backups (backup and backup are two different things). For example, if files are lost due to a file system error or a person, they will disappear immediately in the entire mirror. Then the backup is relevant
2. Store everything in different places (put your parents, for example, a computer that will be a “second basket”) with a single backup disk (and two zeocal ones at home)
3. Try a tool like BitTorrentSync. Can't promise it will run over LAN, but still BTSync
Why not a body shirt then? Make a simple batch file that will add new folders to us, well, I use backblaze.com for example, it stores backup in the cloud, it costs 5 bucks a month on a computer and has no volume limit, at least it didn’t choke on my 2 terabytes.
Only ownCloud came to mind. Link to review and client below. The only doubt is the quantity, I have never tried to synchronize so much.

I advise you to use Selectel Storage . Your photos will be securely stored, you can easily access them from anywhere, including in the form of a photo gallery in original quality, it will be easy for you to share them with anyone you want. And payment is made only for the actually occupied place.
1. For backup to local storage, I use Genie Timeline (http://habrahabr.ru/post/135181/)
2. For backup to the cloud, I use Crashplan Backup (http://habrahabr.ru/sandbox/40774/) - unlimited space . You can backup from a "friend's" computer, namely from your girlfriend's computer. There are clients for different platforms.
I just use this bundle to backup photos. There are no complaints.
I highly recommend.
Seafile.com would be ideal for you , but the only paid server version is seafile.com/en/download/ just for windows
I used http://www.goodsync.com
for similar purposes
and it uploaded to S3 and local NAS
If photos are not needed every day or even a month, then you can write on the tape. It's not exactly a budget option :)
Flickr gives out a terabyte of space for photos. I couldn't upload cr2 from Kenon, only standard jpg, etc.
I used the Allway Sync 'n' Go Pro
program to synchronize files on the local PC and the server (I threw it on the server for others to access) . The free version has a limit on the number of files. During the first synchronization, it creates a database in a hidden folder. When synchronizing 100k files, it took about 1-2 hours to compare. Works fast and has many settings. Plus there is a scheduler. I set it up at work to drop it on a server at lunchtime, while I was not at my workplace. Issues a notification on an error (for example, the source file has changed or the folder has been deleted, many scripting options for handling notifications).
It has three disadvantages:
1. Paid, but the price is small.
2. Creates files in a folder (base files in a hidden folder).
3. Only for Windows, but can copy to any media (usb, ftp, smb and others).
