How to install NVIDIA driver on Ubuntu?

Video card: GTX 780
OC: Ubuntu 13.10
Tried like this:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install nvidia-319

319 seems to support 780
As a result, nothing happened. When you turn it on, the inscription "Ubuntu" appears and hangs on it. I can open the console, but I can't enter the graphical console. Please help, as I've been fiddling all day and it doesn't work.

If you don't know where to start - Alt + Ctrl + F1, sudo apt-get remove nvidia nvidia-*, reboot.

Set to 331, your card may not be supported in the old version.
I also have 13.10, driver 331, 780M card, Optimus (Intel + Nvidia) - everything works.
