There are two dvi-i outputs on the old video card, on the hdmi monitor. Is it possible to somehow connect the vidyuhi to the monitor while maintaining the sound?

You phrase the question very badly. Perhaps the monitor has speakers and you want to send sound from the computer to the monitor?
1) Transmission is possible hdmi (computer) -> dvi (monitor), but not vice versa
2) Sound is transmitted via hdmi and not transmitted via dvi (there is only video).
