Diagnose a problem?

Good afternoon. Help, please, at least approximately, to diagnose the source of the problem with the computer.
The symptoms are as follows: for no apparent reason, during web surfing (that is, not under load), the screen went out (the monitor began to write that there was no signal), at the same time, a burning smell appeared from the bowels of the system unit. The system unit is connected to the network through a surge protector, and there were no power surges at that moment. After that, the monitor constantly writes about the absence of a signal, which, it would seem, hints at problems with the video card. At the same time:
- I checked both the DVI and HDMI outputs of the video card, the effect is the same, it was checked with two different monitors.
- The monitor is definitely working, tested with other equipment.
- There is power, all coolers (including video card coolers) work.
- No sounds are heard during POST (if the video card malfunctions, it seems like there should be a single squeak, or am I mistaken?)
- Visually, no damage (such as swollen capacitors) could be detected.
- Check the video card separately, unfortunately, there is no way (as well as check the system unit with another video card).
Tell me, what (at least in general terms) could be the problem? I won’t be able to contact the SC in the next couple of days, so I would like to at least roughly imagine what it could be.
Config: video - gigabyte gtx 680, mother - ASUS p8z77, PSU - Zalman ZM600, processor - core i7-3770.
Thanks in advance ;)

Vidyukha. The BIOS will yell if it was not possible to get a response from it during boot. This says that (imho) that the vidyuha (processor) is working, something burned out on the output to the monitor in the video card.
Do you have embedded video?

There will not always be a squeak when the video card is damaged.
It looks like she still has a problem. Check the voltage with a multimeter.

Smell the video card, after removing it. If the smell is from her board, then the price of the issue is low.
If your nose does not distinguish smells, smell the coffee first.

Video 99%, you can check by pulling out the video card, the system manager should beep with the post-code, they say, I don’t see the video. For the future - if it is possible to keep spare parts in the bins, even the cheapest ones (the vidyuha costs up to 1k new, you can find it even cheaper from the hands), it helps, both by typing to find a malfunction, and to complete the job (according to the law of meanness, the car dies in most inopportune time)

Either the graphics card or the power supply. Theoretically, if he was under the limit, he can give out such miracles.
Well, in general, if possible, find and buy (sometimes I saw 300 rubles each) master-tv.com/article/post/ POST code indicator. If this is not possible, experiment. Could, for example, fly RAM. Without it, the PC will not start and show nothing. By the way, if nothing is connected to the Speaker connector on your motherboard, then you will not hear any warning. There will be nothing to squeak :)

The motherboard has video outputs. You need to remove the video card and connect the monitor to the built-in video. Started up? Video card.
“Monitor connected but says no signal” is a very lousy symptom.

Visually, no damage (such as swollen capacitors) could be found.

Did you remove the cooling?
If not, then you don't need to.
I had about the same thing (cotton, smoke, "no signal"). I found under the casing of the video card a burnt transistor from the power subsystem.

Didn't find what you were looking for?
