How to connect a monitor to a laptop with support for 2K 144Hz?

Hello. Tell me please.
There is a laptop Dell Vostro 5590 ( https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-au/vostro-... ) which has outputs for connecting a monitor:

  1. HDMI 1.4
  2. One USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Type-C) port with DisplayPort 1.2 /PowerShare


Tell me, please, through which cable is the best way to connect the monitor so that there is support for 2K with 144hz?
Does the monitor need to support USB Type-C (DisplayPort Alt Mode) to support 2K with 144hz?
