What happened to the LCD screen: burned out pixels or what?

I didn’t attach any importance, I thought it was an ordinary blunder, until I tried to wipe it with a rag. It turns out that the upper right corner of the chrome remained on the screen as a white imprint. Now, wherever I go on the screen, there will be a barely burnt out section of chrome with its extensions. How could this even happen?

It looks like the degradation of the LCD filters over time from constant exposure to the light flux.

Could this be an OS bug? Check on another system.
