How to check video card switching in macbook pro?
Hello!
Not so long ago I became the owner of a MacBook Pro Retina Late 2013. According to the specifications, it has two video cards.
1. Intel Iris Pro 1.5 Gb, Graphics
2. NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2Gb
I installed a game from Steam - Civilization 5, at minimum settings. The laptop warmed up to 95 degrees. And it seems to me that this is due to the fact that it does not switch to discrete graphics.
I watched reviews on Youtube reviews of how others play Battlefield 3, on maximum graphics and without brakes and additional noise. It seems to me that something is not right.
For the test, I set myself the gfx card status program - it shows the nvidia card, but darkened. If I understand correctly, it is not available.
Tell me how to check that the video cards switch between themselves and everything works fine? and an additional question for those who play on macbook pro, how does the game laptop in general pull.

For such things I myself use a pretty good open source program https://gfx.io
From the possibilities:
Shows / Sets / Displays notifications when changing the video card
and an additional question for those who play on macbook pro, how does the game laptop in general pull.
In general, the game's laptop sucks. You have to play at best in average quality.
My ciwa is forcing the switch. At the same time, the fans yell with terrible force.
You understand correctly the question :) In general, I don’t care how he pulls the game. I did not take the plug for games. I need to check and figure out if it switches the video correctly and whether it switches at all ?! :)
