How to check if the root of the text rendering problem is in the freetype library?

There is a font that causes core dumped when rendering 'AR' text in applications written in Pygame and Kivy.
How easy is it on Windows, Ubuntu or a web service to check if it's a freetype library issue?
The kivy developers advise to turn to freetype. it will be, but it is hardly worth waiting for a quick answer.
For example, I know that this font is working (correctly rendered) in the Godot 3 game engine, and it has a freetype folder in the sources on the github (which seems to be a hint), but maybe Godot uses not it (or not only it) when rendering )
In text rendering, as well as in C, I understand poorly, I would like some simple solution that can be used more than once.
