How to change the "desired level of income" if you have already announced it to the employer?

They offer remote work as a front-end developer (website layout), my candidacy suits me, they asked me what level of salary I expect, I said $ 700, then I found out that the customer is from Poland, the salary there is clearly higher and it turns out I sold cheap.
Now they have to give me a test task, how can I tell the employer now that I am counting on a higher salary? How to substantiate this? And do it now or after the test?

Don't regret what could have been.
Get the job done, ask for more after a while. If you are sure that you can easily find such a RFP elsewhere, you will find it.
Experience for the future.

Say that you named that amount offhand and that, without knowing the amount of work, it is difficult to name the exact amount. Ask him how much work you will need to do so that you can more accurately estimate the amount of your salary. Then estimate the number of working hours per month, multiply by the cost of an hour of your work and announce the exact final amount. And the rationale is simple - the amount of work in hours, multiplied by your hourly rate.

Quick answer to the question:
Show the formula W = R*D*T/(T+O) and say that everything depends on the complexity of the template, indicating your minimum rate (R) for the simplest layout. (R is a constant value for long-term continuous cooperation with the Customer)

I.e. to perform such work - you need a template with an understanding of the details.
(otherwise you can shove WebGL with canvas there)

For the future, always say "from". from 700. This gives some room for adjustment.

I solved a similar problem like this: I completed the initially agreed amount of work, and when I began to evaluate the next part, I informed the customer that such a low rate was due to the fact that I was promoting on the stock exchange and now it is 2 times higher, but because he is an old client, then for him the rate will be only 40% higher;) Turkish-Arabic marketing, but it works)))

Look, no one pulled you by the tongue. And then all sorts of people will come out, they will bring down the price, and then into the bushes.
But if you really want to, then you can throw about a hundred, you need to politely ask.

To begin with, fill up the bear. And then deal with the skin. And it turns out you try on the skin of an unkilled bear.
I took the employer at gunpoint, show yourself (the trial period is usually 3 months), and when the employer is delighted with you, then come up with something, he will not want to let you go and will be ready to listen to your new conditions.
