Switching from PHP to Java or Python. What to choose?

In general, I am preparing for an interview in a large international company and my current programming language is not suitable for an interview. I consider Java or Python as two alternatives. Experience of development both on that, and on that is available. For some reason, my heart is more inclined towards Python, it is closer to the area in which I am currently working, and if I do not pass the interview, somehow I will not be lost with it. In Java, it seems to me that you need to pee for a couple of years to be offered some worthwhile money.
I ask you to express "for" and "against" in the direction of the candidates. Please, do not holivara - the question is important to me and I would like some objectivity. I would like not to humiliate any of the languages, but to decide which one to take seriously, damn it :) Thank you.

Both languages are in demand, and knowing any of them will not be lost.
Go to the one on which the soul lies. It will be better this way.

What kind of objectivity without holivar do you want on this holivar issue?
Javaists will call Java, Pythonists - python. Then more rubists will catch up.
Take to what the soul lies and do not ask anyone.

Historically, Java is a corp standard, the java language is very strong, but the downside for me personally is that. that development is slower than in Python.
Python is more understandable and, for me, a promising language, I use it to manage the flow of streams to broadcast videoconferencing servers.
Same for parsing and web. each language has its pros and cons.

Since the Android OS has become very famous (and there the application is written in java), I advise you to choose Java

If you only need it for an interview and demonstration of skills, then I would choose Java as a spherical OOP in a vacuum. Although there are enough subtleties.
If you need to demonstrate web skills, then Python is better, since Web-Python is much closer to PHP in terms of how it works. Web-Java, IMHO, is fundamentally different from PHP, so you have to spend time to understand how everything works there.
If you look from the point of view of work, then Java is more promising, because. almost the de facto enterprise standard, and Python is just part of the web market.
