It is obligatory screw built-in? There is also wolframalpha.com/input/?i=sin(5°43')
Or43 / 60 + 5 [=] [sin]

If we are talking about the built-in Windows calculator, then you still need to translate, because the sin and cos functions in engineering mode take angle values as input, which must be expressed in degrees and decimal degrees. That is, your 5º43' (degrees, minutes, seconds) still needs to be converted to 5.716(6)º (degrees and decimal degrees), and then calculate the sine and cosine of this angle.
But the Windows Calculator has a corresponding built-in function for this (which, however, has a confusing syntax).
To calculate the cosine of 5º43' in an engineering calculator, type 5,43(yes, this is confusing, but 5º43'30"should be entered as 5,4330- without additional separators), then press the key "Inv" and "deg" - get the value of the degrees and their decimal fractions, and now you can press, respectively, "sin" or "cos".
It is impossible to simply type in some way directly 5º43 'and immediately calculate the sine or cosine. More precisely - you will get an erroneous result, instead of a sine of 5º43 ', a sine of 5.43º will be calculated - you should not do this.

Convert degrees and minutes to degrees and calculate.
5°43'=5.7166666666666666666666666666667°
Sin(5°43')=0.09960919546980841327158707634858
Otherwise, it's a stupid calculator for stupid Americans. Minute does not understand.
