Why does mountvol give "the parameter is incorrect"?

Good day!
I run mountvol disk: /s, and if the disk is not "a", it says "The parameter is incorrect"
What could be the problem?
I've been looking for an hour now...

What makes you think that bcdedit needs to pass the drive name as a parameter?
Try reading the help:
bcdedit /?
