How much space is needed on the system disk?

How much space on the system disk is needed on average for good computer performance, and does it depend on the size of the disk, and if so, how?

The recommended system disk size depends on many factors.
From the OS used, the location of installed applications and the location / filling out user profiles.

Personally, I have a 120Gb SSD full of Windows and programs, and another 100Gb on the HDD is occupied by the rest

You look at the recommended value in the instructions for the operating system, figure out what software you will put there, add space for swap and, just in case, a couple more gigabytes.
Windows NT + MS Office lived well on a 500mb-1gb
Win2000 partition, it would have been nice to have 1gb and more
WinXP at least 10 GB, considering Swap
under Win7 with software, I don’t allocate less than 30 GB, but at home I allocated 100, 70 is occupied.
