How many NVMe M.2 drives can be in a system?

Motherboard Asus Z270E, both m2 slots are already occupied by disks. Will the third drive work if it is installed in PCI-E x4 through an adapter? Will it affect the video card?

Look at the motherboard specs, it usually says in what mode several slots will work.
But with a probability of 100% it will not affect in any way.
