How can a boss control a freelancer remotely by the hour?
I sit in the office and work on finalizing about 20 sites of the enterprise. Coding, layout, even design have to be dealt with, but that's not the point.
The boss doesn't mind me working remotely. Of course, I don't mind either. There is no direct need for my presence at the workplace. BUT! There is a question of accounting of working time, tk. I am now on a salary, and if I move home, then hourly wages logically arise. There are no problems with this. The problem is how to take it into account.
Generally. We need some kind of program, which I am ready to put on my computer at home and which will send some reports to the director, how much I have worked in hours per month. And he will pay me for these hours.
I would like to be able to "click stop", go somewhere and, upon returning, "click start".
Are there any adequate solutions in this regard so that everything would be without paranoia and more or less honestly?
Advise something, it is very desirable from personal experience.

The decision is called "adequate boss". Stay on salary, keep working 8 hours a day with a break. What matters is not the amount of time spent at work, but the quality of what is done.
If you work for 16 hours, and the output will be bullshit - what's the use of this? And you will be asked to pay twice. This is not right, this is not right.
Be prepared for the fact that your 9 hours spent at work = 4-5 according to the time tracker.
And if sometimes at work you can make the appearance of work all day long, according to the time tracker, this will not work
because I am now on a salary, and if I move home, then hourly pay logically arisesWhy is it logical? Who prevents to remain on the salary, if it suits both parties?
Don't let them put you in the position of a debtor.
As many have said, remote work != in the office. There will be even more than you are used to. Plus, your boss does not have any confidence in you, since he agrees to view your screenshots of activities for the whole day, which is absurd for a normal boss and a waste of his precious time.
Stay in the office better. There you will work at most 4 hours, and remotely all 8. At the same time, remotely you will have to simulate activities as much as every 10 minutes, a very inconvenient system.
I used TopTracker . The program can take screenshots of the screen (if there are several screens, and even from a webcam, all this is configured and disabled) at a set time interval and sends it to the server, tracks time and links screenshots to working time intervals. You can cancel the made screen, if confidential information suddenly appeared, for example, you can track the time manually (without screens, it turns out), for example, that you worked from 9 am to 12.
As I understand it, the boss himself registered, created a project in his account. Connected me to it, I could view my timekeeping and edit it.
This program is called a time tracker or activity tracker (time tracker), one example is https://hubstaff.com/ . TimeDoctor is also recommended nearby - also a great option.
OBS Studio
register on YouTube, set limited access to broadcasts.
1 button to start and pause the recording, you can navigate the length of the video how much they worked.
If you like the job because of the salary/relationships/holidays/days off, then it’s better to just agree that the presence in the office is not necessary, but I stay in touch and if anything, I’ll fly to the office with a cheerful falcon. I worked like this for 7 out of 10 years in the organization and it suited everyone. Sometimes, 2-3 days a week, it’s just an extra weekend for yourself - the main thing is that everyone is happy with everything - the servers are working, the code is being written, the face’s muzzle is not very blue / green / red after the weekend ... but switch to control, screenshots and an hourly schedule, if it’s not super-profitable (and who will rest for you? or refusal / wedge of the head interaural ganglion has not yet been encountered in life?) - it’s easier to die right away and not get up. IMHO
By milestones, redlines and statuses of tasks/tickets, etc.
That is, so that the performance of the work given to you can be checked!
if I move home, then the hourly payment arises logicallyIt doesn't make sense at all!
You can add screenshotmonitor.com to the above.
By the way, you can bring your clients to Upwork and use their escrow. In this case, only the transfer fee of 2.75% remains of all payments
In my opinion, there is a substitution of concepts.
You become just a remote worker.
A freelancer is completely different and he does not have a boss.

bitrix24 - there is time tracking, online service, up to 12 people for free. But I recommend that you don't bother with it, no one needs accounting if you can't do your job. I work remotely myself. I have developed the following rules for myself: to be always in touch, to solve problems quickly, to do a large amount of work during working hours.
