How and where to store database backups?

I have a project, I often play around with queries like delete, and I understand that it’s impossible to continue like this, because the database grows every day and then I won’t be able to restore anything, or they suddenly hack and delete everything (there are a lot of scenarios)
Question: where to store db backups? What storage is best for this need?
And the question is: just make mysqldump cron and send these backups to this storage?
