homemade wi-fi antenna. Advise material

Hello. Request to experts on the issue of homemade wi-fi antennas.
Advise which antenna is better to make (square, bi-square, figure eight, bank, etc), and throw a few links, otherwise Google’s head is already square, and I don’t know what kind of antenna to make.
Please answer exactly those people who did both those and other options, and knows a lot about this.
And a separate question, will cardboard pasted over with kitchen foil work as a reflective material? (it is also aluminum, just very thin)

About 5 years ago they did it with the help of Nescafe jars. It worked very well.

According to one of the antenna options - an antenna from a can ("cantenna" is the common name for this type of antenna): http://www.cqham.ru/cantenna.htm , a whole instruction for creating an antenna. There is a calculator on the page for calculating the bank parameters.

The simplest is a bank, it is quite effective (if you need a directed one).
PS I did it in the apartment simply - I clung to the telephone wire and there is a signal everywhere within it, the option is not the best, and indeed “for luck”, but I was lucky =)

one of the most complete sites on this topic is www.wifiantenna.org.ua/
and you didn’t say what the antenna is for - just connect two points or broadcast to the whole district ...
