HDMI cables can only transmit up to 60Hz?

In an attempt to select an HDMI cable, I came across the fact that they can only transmit 60 Hz.
It turns out that it makes no sense to take a monitor with 100+ Hz, because it will still be a maximum of 60 Hz?
I want to take a large monitor to my laptop and do not suffer with 15 inches

HDMI 2.1 supports 4k resolution at 120hz.
