If you use the native Apple A1790 adapter (thunderbolt 3 to thunderbolt 2) -
the monitor will not work, it will show "no signal / no cable connected".
This adapter does not support DisplayPort monitors (Apple LED Cinema and any other DisplayPort and Mini DisplayPort monitors). It is designed to connect two apple devices (an old laptop and a new one, for example)
As far as I found out, there are three options left:
1. Buy another adapter a1621 emc2877 (USB-C Multiport Digital AV Adapter) for 5.5k rubles. + HDMI cable + (the existing monitor must have an HDMI input) and connect it via HDMI;
2. Buy a monitor with Thunderbolt 3 support (LG UltraFine 5K) for 100k rubles;
3. Buy a monitor with USB Type-C support (LG UltraFine 4K) for 65k rubles.
