Connecting a monitor to a computer via an HDMI output -> DVI-D?
In mind, HDMI and DVI-D differ only in the shape of the connector (if we talk about connecting to a monitor).
I successfully connected the TV to the computer via the DVI output, via the DVI->HDMI adapter to the TV using the HDMI-HDMI cable.
There are ready-made HDMI-DVI wires, both connectors are male, is it possible to connect a computer to a regular DVI monitor using this cable using the video card's HDMI output? Does it make any difference in which direction the signal is transmitted? Who has the opportunity to check it?
ps There is a desire to take the computer out of the wall, there is no desire to cut the DVI wire, and the HDMI connector is easier to push into the hole (it does not have to be made as large as for a regular DVI connector). Sound transmission is not required.

Yes, my monitor works from such a cable.
On a DVI monitor, on an HDMI video card.
It's just that the second DVI on the video card is occupied by the second monitor.
Cost - $ 7-8
