Has anyone signed an NDA on Upwork?
A week ago I responded to a project with a good price. Today the client wrote, offered to discuss on Skype. Everything seems to be agreed. Then he asked to sign the NDA and send him a scan of the passport with the address. All this on Skype. Actually, the question is: can I sign such papers without an existing upwork offer (there is only one message on the project from him)? There seems to be nothing of the kind in the contract itself, standard wording, but since I have not signed such documents before, I am wary. Do I need to first ask for an offer and conduct correspondence on the upwork?
PS> Client from England confirmed. True, my name is Shahid) I don’t want to be a free slave to him ..

I don't see anything wrong with that. I signed. Haven't been enslaved yet.
NDA does not oblige you to work, but only a non-disclosure agreement.
all normal customers with private data require nda.
They sent me an NDA in electronic form, that is, on some site you solemnly enter your name and this is considered a signature. And no passports and registrations ..
1. I signed the NDA, it was a very serious document, insert your signature in Photoshop. :)
2. But the passport is already strange. I would not send.
