Gradual rebuild of RAID from SAS HDD to SATA SSD is real?

Good day comrades. Need help assessing the situation.
Initial data:
DELL R740XD
H730P RAID
24 x SAS HDD DELL 1,2Tb >> RAID6
Problems:
High latency up to 5 sec in ioping
Processes hanging in D mode (waiting for a disk)
Main question:
Can I start replacing SAS HDDs with SATA SSD 2Tb ? The controller initially did not allow adding a SATA SSD to 1 pool along with a SAS HDD
