Who will tell you the nuances of Windows software raid?

Good day!
With the release of Windows Server 2016, I plan to move a Windows server to it. As far as I know, since Windows 2012, the system includes the functionality to keep a completely software raid. I want to file raid 5 on 3 hdd disks + add 1-2 ssds to it to speed up. There are several questions that I would like to solve before the start of the experiments, but I can’t find any sensible information on the topic.
1. Is it possible to install a system on this raid (i.e. create a raid during installation)? How justified is this?
2. What are the limitations of software windows raid? Is it possible to use disks of different sizes, add ssd cache, etc.
