Problems with an unconfigured bad disk, how to get it out of this state and make it a spare?
Good day.
At raid on the server one disk fell off and became uncof bad. the raid consists of 7 hards and the eighth for the reserve. after one fell off, a backup one picked up instead and rebuilt on its own. the raid became optimal. but it continues to squeak and talk about an error due to the fact that one disk remained bad. I made it uncof good, but I don’t know what to do next. I use megaraid manager. the drive, if right-clicked, has: start location, stop location, prapare for removal, drive erase. where you need to click to remove it from the array and so that it now becomes a spare (I understand that it is not very good, but so far there is no replacement, but this squeak infuriates)

It's not for nothing that the squeak infuriates you - those who built it had a lot of experience with arrays and thereby hint to you that even if you have RAID 6, the situation is not kosher.
Change the disk, especially if you have RAID 5. With it, if another disk crashes, I would advise you to stop the array, despite the fact that work in degraded mode is possible.
The risk of becoming our client will be too high if the disks were bought all at the same time (ie they have the same wear, close production dates, etc.).
