Epson I100 printer or millennial war?

For several years after the purchase, I have been fighting with my device, which I recently call the "Fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse", because my young friend threw so many troubles on me.
The bottom line is - this thing rubs me that my ink has run out of "service life", but the point is that they are pirated, bought for normal money, allowed for ink.
Google gave out that you need to install the PrintHelp program, but everything is too complicated there, and the prospect of laying out 60 or some bucks (a lot!) Doesn't make me happy either.
Is it possible to perform all these manipulations on the verge of exorcism manually, without involving extra software?
And yes, if anything, does anyone know a normal printer that does not ask to verify every bunch?...
