Energy saving problem with optibay (dvd drive replacement)?
A problem that didn't occur to me. But only because I haven't bought an SSD yet. Everything else is similar. Similar laptop ASUS N551JM, similar (probably) espada SS12 (msata to sata) optibey, and probably similar HDD (Hitachi Travelstar HTS541010A9E680).
Actually what's the catch. I haven't bought an SSD (850 EVO 120) yet, but this arrangement didn't suit me. A couple of people unsubscribed that they abandoned the Optibey, due to the fact that long calls to the HDD go through it, due to the fact that if there is no activity for a few seconds, the SATA port goes into power saving mode. In turn, this leads everything to stop the rotation of the HDD (which does not represent anything useful for it).
I admit honestly - I didn’t google much on this topic, I decided to immediately clarify all the nuances about the BIOS here.
What are the solutions to this problem? In any case, I will need the HDD in a bundle (120 ssd for programs, 1 TB hdd for quick access to files, 3 TB local network with everything else).
