Dynamic scaling of server capacity?
I’m a teapot in the question, tell me, please, so I decided to rent a vps server or a dedicated one, at the time of development and promotion of the project, I need little power and in order not to overpay, I rent a weak server with one core and a couple of GB of RAM. But after a while, the server is not enough for me and I want to increase the capacity.
As far as I know, earlier it was necessary to take a new server and transfer it there - this causes difficulties. On Amazon, again, as far as I know, you can add as many resources as you like in one click without transferring anything anywhere. What is this function called? Is it widespread or does it not happen on "regular" hostings?
Thank you.

right now, hosters (normal) already have virtualization everywhere. in your personal account you carry sliders as much as you need to add RAM, space and cores. and everything is added in a minute or two.
